Palestinian Life

Do all people leave their land or is it just the Palestinians? Palestinian people are found all over the world. Most of them leave their family and land to go find a job and work. Some leave because they were forced to and some by choice for certain reasons. They immigrate to places where they can find good jobs and work. In order to save up some money and one day try to go back home. Immigration is a big deal in Palestine. More than half of the people had to immigrate from forces held upon them. Immigration is a concept used in many forms. The form Palestinian people are aware of is the one that means to leave your house and life by force held upon them. Israelis forced many people to immigrate but that did not stop Palestinian people of thinking about their land. Hoping one day to come back to it.

Even though some people choose to leave their town; it was for a good cause. Take Turmus Aya people for example three quarter of them left their country to find good job. This does not mean that they gave up on their life in Palestine. Absolutely opposite, true they left but they went to make good money and come put it in their land and town. Investment on their town was the best way to make it a better place. Turmus Aya is one of the most beautiful countries in Palestine. It is all green fields and nice pure air. Once you go in it you will not like to leave. Immigration in Turmus Aya was a hard but good thing. In this case it was for the better good.

Turmus Aya also had people in it that had to leave by force. Passing by their perfect built house and knowing that there is a small chance that they will not have the opportunity of coming back to it was sad. It was sad because they spent half of their life working hard just to make it perfect the way they like it to be, and not actually live in it. It was gone and wasted for nothing.

Immigration plays a big role in society and family. If half of my family or kicked out and may not come back why should I stay? Of course people are going to start to think like that. So it will end up not only the father leaves but also the mother and children go with him. So they will not stay alone. Also same with the society for example if half or the majority of the man leave, the ones left behind will be like why should I stay. I will just follow them and do what they do in order to provide for the family. We will end up with not that much of people in the town. They all live in the present and do not think about the future.

They do not say that me leaving my town is exactly what my enemy wants me to do. They think like I will go for a couple of years make some good money and come back. When they do come back; which they never actually do. They will find that the enemy took more than half of their land and they have nothing to do about that. That is the way our land is taken away from us.

Battir a country near Bethlehem has a unique way of life. You can say in a way that they are different from other people in some sense. They have their own citizenship card that differs from all other cards in Palestine. This is for certain matters in their town. People from outside Battir can not walk around everywhere they like if they don’t have the citizenship of Battir. They can be put in jail if they were caught in certain areas in town.

Palestinian people have stories about their life many people will find strange. But this never stopped them from doing what they like whenever they like to do it. They are people with strong will and great minds. If they were prevented from something they will automatically find a substitute for it.
